Ways To Stay Busy At Home During The Coronavirus Outbreak. With everything going on right now, many of us are finding ourselves working from home and in some cases trapped in our houses with little contact with other people.  It is really easy to find yourself going stir crazy, here are some things that you can do to keep yourself busy during this time.

Shower and get dressed:

Part of the charm of working from home is you don’t need to dress nice and you can lounge in the same outfit for days. But I promise you that sounds better than it actually is. Start your day off with a shower and feel refreshed. It will change your mindset and help you feel better! It will also help you establish a routine.

Dedicate a workplace:

If you don’t have a desk a folding table will suffice. This will allow you to set up a space that is dedicated to your time working at home, helping you still feel productive and busy when you are out of the office, yet not feel like you need to be working 24/7. Facetime/Skype with your team during set times during the week so that you have some level of social interaction and you can keep connected to projects that are being jointly worked on.

Go Outside

The weather lately has been beautiful. It is okay to check out a local trail or take a walk/run around the block. Fresh air is good for you and good for your soul.  Breaks also help to re-energize you and keep you mind fresh.

Workout

I get it, you don’t want to go to the gym. I totally understand. There are still workouts you can do at home with no equipment. Daily burn and Pinterest are great resources for this. Working out helps to keep you healthy both mentally and physically and it is a great use of your time!

Keep your mind busy

Please don’t just sit around the house and binge watch show after show.  It gets old fast.   Try downloading that ebook you have been meaning to read, working on your side hustle, do a puzzle, listen to a podcast, take a virtual class, etc.

You can also visit a virtual museum from the comfort of your couch, read more here.

Craft-Be Creative

The internet is filled with amazing DIY projects, that you can do with items in your home. It allows you to stay creative and get out of the left side of your brain … after all, sometimes you need to be in your right mind!

Bake or cook

Try making one of your favorite recipes, or better yet try something new. If you don’t want to go to the supermarkets during the current Coronavirus apocalypse, try amazon fresh, a meal subscription box, or peapod. You can get the ingredients you need without ever leaving the comfort of your home.

Socialize

Everyone that is working from home is feeling isolated and alone. So, call a friend or a family member. Get your favorite group together for a good on-line hang, it’s not the same but at least it is something.

Most importantly during this time take care of yourself and listen to your body!  You can also practice some self-care, click here for some ideas.

Now go wash your hands!
