There is so much going on in the world right now, and we are all experiencing that on top of our daily stressors. It is only natural that our anxiety is higher than ever. But what is anxiety? Anxiety is your body’s natural reaction to stress.

Everyone’s body reacts to anxiety different and it can present in multiple ways:

Now that we have addressed the signs, what can we do to help get through it and cope with anxiety?

-Return to the present: One of the reasons that we develop anxiety or start to stress Is when we are thinking about the future. When you feel that coming o,n, calm your thoughts and return to the present, I know easier said than done.

-Pause: Are your thoughts realistic? Are these things that are going on or are they issues you are manifesting?

-Breathe: Just stop whatever you are doing and remember to breather…in and out and in and out.

-Exercise or go for a walk: this can help use up your extra energy and give your brain a distraction.

-Meditate or practice tapping: This will help to calm the mind and your breathing.

-Take a bath, light some candles and relax. Epsom salts are a great way to relax your mind and muscles.

-Avoid Caffeine: If you know that you suffer from anxiety try to avoid coffee and other forms of caffeine, as it is a well-known anxiety inducer.

-Journal or write: Write through what you are experiencing and why, it will help you process what you are dealing with it.

-Talk: If you are a writer, talk it out call a good friend, family member, or therapist.

-Lavender: Lavender is known to have calming properties, keep a small bottle of lavender in your purse or at your desk. When you feel the anxiety coming on breathe it in and meditate.

-Mantras: You know I love my mantras, and this not the first time I have talked about them. Find one that works for you such as:

              -I got this

              -This is only temporary

              -I am capable

              -Etc.

-Practice Gratitude: when it feels like nothing is going right and you are feeling really overwhelmed think about all the things you have in your life that you are grateful for, it will help you redirect your thoughts and focus on the good.

-Fresh air: Nature has such healing properties go outside, a change in environment can also help cope with stress.

-Get off social media or turn off the phone: sometimes you just need a break from it all.

-Practice self-care: Sometimes you just need to focus on your do s facial, get a massage, mani-pedi, or whatever it is that works for you.
